We talked to Matthew Bergman, CPA of CJBS about how they got involved in the cannabis industry and what services they offer to passionate cannabis owners.
“Originally, we had an existing client in another industry that was applying for the first round of medical licenses. When they won three dispensary licenses, we were asked to do the work required for those businesses. Since then, we have worked with our client to get everything up and running, from an accounting perspective.
Our services run the gamut from basic bookkeeping to fractional CFO services. We serve as an outsource for local cannabis businesses and offer services including:
- Audited financial statements for multi-state operators
- Income and sales tax preparation
- Payroll registration
- Budgeting and projections
- Financial consulting
Our passion is service, whether our client is in machinery manufacturing or cannabis, or anything in between. People in the cannabis industry often need additional support, owing to the nature of the industry itself, both in the fact that it is relatively new, and also at times societally marginalized.
